3,000th IB World School authorized!
The process of becoming an IB World School takes 2-3 years, including 12 months of teaching as a candidate school – for PYP and MYP - before IB World School status is granted. The IB now works with 3,001 schools in 139 countries offering its three programmes to approximately 837,000 students.
Brown Academy of Chattanooga, Tennessee, USA was named as the 3,000th IB World School. On hearing the news, IB coordinator Alicyn Wilkey said “Brown Academy is so excited to not only be the 3,000th IB World School, but to also be the first IB PYP School in the state of Tennessee! This has been such an exciting journey for the school community. Being an IB World School literally opens up a world of opportunities for the Brown Academy students that before were not available”.
