IB Diploma Programme results

Results for the May 2010 Diploma Programme examination session were issued on Monday 5 July. Approximately 36,500 diplomas were awarded globally with over 70 students achieving 45 points – the highest total a Diploma Programme student can obtain.

In general, approximately 80% of Diploma Programme students are awarded the diploma each session. The diploma is awarded to students who gain at least 24 points (subject to minimum levels of performance), with less than 1% of those students gaining the maximum points. In addition to the diplomas, over 62,000 certificates were awarded to students.

The May 2010 examination session has been the biggest yet in terms of student numbers with over 100,000 diploma candidates sitting exams. The final award committee met on Saturday 3 July to ensure timely delivery of results which students were able to collect online via the candidate results service.
