Assessment and academic directors

At the end of last year, we announced that our current assessment director, Dr George Pook would be appointed as academic director. We subsequently advertised the vacancy of assessment director as a consequence.

Unfortunately, George suffered a serious brain haemorrhage just a few days after that announcement. He is making a remarkably successful recovery and has been working actively for the past several weeks. Nevertheless, the experience has convinced George that now is not the time for a major change in his life by undertaking a new role.

As a result, George has decided to remain in his existing post of assessment director, a role in which he has many years' experience and in which he will be able to quickly resume his full responsibilities. Meanwhile, the vacancy for an academic director will be re-advertised in the near future.
