José Francisco Uribe Gaudry

PepeUribe

Pepe Uribe is Head of School at Bachillerato Alexander Bain, S. C., having previously held the post of Associate Head in addition to Diploma Programme Coordinator (since the inception of the programme in 1990). He is currently supervisor of the extended essay in history. Since 1994 he has taught Law I and Law II of the Colegio de Ciencias y Humanidades programme at the school.

He has been an advisor to the Mexican Association of IB World Schools since 2005. He was a founding member (in 1995) and is currently Chair of the board of directors of the academic group Profesor Oscar Javier Acosta Romero S. C.  

Pepe Uribe holds a number of elective positions. He has been a member of the IB Heads Council since 2008 and has also served as a member of the Regional Council for IB Latin America. He has been a member of authorization teams visiting schools across Latin America seeking to offer the Diploma Programme.

He has maintained his strong commitment to the aims and ideals of the International Baccalaureate through attendance at numerous courses and workshops, as well as giving lectures and conference papers.

Pepe Uribe obtained a BA in Law in 1990 from the Universidad Panamericana, accredited by U.N.A.M. (National Autonomous University of Mexico), graduating with honours. He followed this with postgraduate studies for an MA Candidate of Historiography of Mexico at the Instituto Cultural Helénico, accredited by the S.E.P. (Secretariat of Public Education).

He has travelled extensively in Latin America, the USA, Africa, Asia and Europe.
