Ibrahim Betil
Ibrahim Betil is the regional advisor for IB Africa, Europe, Middle East (IBAEM) and a senior fellow at the Ashoka foundation, a global association of the world's leading social entrepreneurs. He currently chairs the Community Volunteers Foundation (CVF), an active youth organization that engages students at universities across Turkey (www.tog.org.tr). He also chairs the governing body of the Enka High School for earthquake survivors in Adapazari (www.enka.k12.tr). In addition, Ibrahim sits on the boards of, and acts as an advisor to, several industrial and financial companies.
During his professional life, which spans 35 years, Ibrahim has worked in the fields of industry, finance and commerce. He has presided over the foundation and running of several companies and banks both within and outside of Turkey. He has helped establish, and has subsequently chaired, several foundations and schools, has lectured in universities, produced radio and TV programmes, and has been a columnist in several newspapers and periodicals, as well as the author of a bestselling book.
In addition to his professional roles, Ibrahim has been closely involved in the educational and cultural life of Turkey through his various voluntary commitments.
Betil is a member of the IB finance committee.
