Examinations Administration Officer (Moderation) Ref 450c

Salary: £18,255 per year

Closing date: 1 October 2009

The examinations administration department is responsible for the successful delivery of two examination sessions each year for schools in over 120 countries. This is achieved through teams of skilled staff dedicated to various aspects of administration, including a team responsible for the administration of subjects.

Applications are sought for a permanent post that carries the responsibility for the administration of Diploma Programme subjects which involves implementing standard procedures, responding to queries from schools and examiners, using databases and word processing documents.

The work can be very intensive, and requires a high degree of personal initiative, good organizational and interpersonal skills, and attention to detail. You will show a willingness to manage and prioritize a diverse workload with the minimum of supervision. Post holders will be required to handle confidential information. Occasional weekend working is essential, especially in May and June.

In addition to the above, you will have a strong background in mathematics (A-level, HND or degree level standard) and will be required to interpret data and use a range of mathematical techniques to make and authorize decisions which ensure that a common standard of marking is applied to all candidates’ marks. Applicants must be highly skilled in the use of Excel 2007.
