Finance Associate - Accounts Payable Ref 431a

The Finance Associate is responsible for the organization’s accounts payable transactions for the Americas which presently include transactions relating to the New York and Vancouver office. This role acts as a point of contact for issues relating to payable transactions for these offices, in addition to all administrative duties for the finance department.
This post will act as one of the point of contact for payable issues relating to this region and reports to the AP Controller.
The post involves a global approach to communication at all levels within the organization and effective external communication with personnel from banks, internal and external auditors and financial institutions.
The Finance Associate – Accounts Payable will be responsible for:
- Recording of the accounts payable transactions for the offices of the Americas
- Answering payment queries to ensure where problems exist they are dealt with immediately
- Internal financial administrative duties for the IB America finance department
- Supporting documentation and accurate financial information to other departments in order to assist with budgets and expenditure monitoring
- Processing 25 -30 direct deposits and wire transfers per week and send transfer confirmations via e-mail in USD’s and Canadian dollars
- Additional duties as needed to ensure a smooth running regional AP department
Requirements:
- Associates degree and two (2) years accounting or an equivalent combination of experience, education and/or training that would provide the level of knowledge and ability required for this position
- Working knowledge of accounting and data entry software (Oracle Financial & Crystal Reports preferred)
- Excellent data entry skills
- Proficient in Excel, Word and Access
- Ability to generate reports for internal financial analysis
- Maintain large volume of transactions with high level of accuracy
- Strong communication skills both written and verbal
- Strong interpersonal skills must be able to work independently as well as part of a team on a regional and global level
- Excellent organizational skills
Location
This post will be temporarily located in the NY office and will relocate to the Washington D.C. area within 12 – 18 months.
