Interactive Learning Designer - Online Professional Learning Services Ref 271

The IB is seeking applicants for the position of interactive learning designer for its online professional learning services department. The interactive learning designer will play a major role in the redesign of current professional development offerings, as well as help develop additional online services for teachers in the areas of original programming, professional inquiry and online toolkits.
The primary accountabilities of this role will be to provide instructional and interactive design for our online learning environments, ensuring that these platforms meet appropriate quality assurance standards and industry best practices. In addition, it is expected that the successful candidate will play an important role in the decision-making process concerning how new media can impact adult learning, and apply this knowledge in their day-to-day work.
You will have a first degree or equivalent, preferably in interactive or instructional design methodologies, and will have technical experience in a flexible learning environment. Experience in using XHTML and CSS is essential. Additional experience in 3-D modelling for the web will be an advantage. You will also have proven skills and knowledge in the educational application of the World Wide Web and in using standard software packages. You will enjoy working as part of a team and be able to take a leadership role when necessary. The ability to encourage, develop and nurture collaborative relationships between the IB and external suppliers is essential.
A good working knowledge of French and/or Spanish is desirable, but the ability to communicate effectively in English on all matters is essential.
This is a full-time position, currently based at the IB offices in Peterson House in Cardiff, Wales, United Kingdom.
