Primary Years Programme Associate Manager IBAEM School Services Ref 629g

1-year contract with possibility of extension

Contract starts as soon as selected applicant is available

The School services department in IBAEM deals with authorization and programme evaluation of schools for the three programmes. An important dimension of this activity is growing and developing the team of IB practitioners that make this work possible.

About the role

Under the direction of the PYP regional manager, the PYP associate manager will support the manger by ensuring schools implement and develop the programme according to requirements and regulations. As such the position requires a person fully committed to the values and mission of the IB.

The regional office is engaged in organizational and operational developments in line with the IB’s 2020 vision. This role is seen as an important component of that change, to ensure the regional office can increase the pool of IB practitioners that support the regional office with the process of authorization, evaluation, consultation and training of IB practitioners as well as support the implementation of quality assurance processes.

This role has a close working relationship the other programmes, professional development other units, schools and IB practitioners.

Education, Experience & Languages:

  • Tertiary degree and in depth knowledge of primary education.
  • Minimum 4 years PYP experience as a teacher and/or PYP coordinator
  • Knowledge/experience of the MYP and/or the Diploma, an advantage
  • knowledge of the Africa/Europe and Middle East region, types of school and educational systems an advantage 
  • Excellent written and spoken English 
  • French, Spanish and/or other languages would be a distinct advantage.

Requested skills:

  • Excellent communication skills both written and oral are essential
  • Excellent organizational skills, including ability to handle priorities and meet deadlines
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with an aptitude to work in multifunctional and multicultural teams
  • Excellent knowledge and use of  ICT tools, including databases and Microsoft outlook
