Two year fixed- term contract

This position will involve the development of early childhood and primary years curriculum and assessment documentation, including in the areas of mathematics, science, and personal, social and physical education. The collection and management of input from schools, consultants and researchers is a significant part of this responsibility. The curriculum manager reports directly to the head of the Primary Years Programme.

You will be a qualified early childhood/primary teacher with at least five years’ teaching experience, some of which must be in an international context. Previous experience of the Primary Years Programme is desirable and some experience of the PYP exhibition would be an advantage. Fluency in written and spoken English is essential. In addition, knowledge of Spanish or French would be an advantage. Experience in curriculum development, excellent organizational and interpersonal skills, and a willingness to work collaboratively are vital. IT skills, including the ability to use a word processor (preferably Microsoft Word) are also essential.

This full-time post, available from September 2006, is based in Cardiff, Wales. A two-year contract will be offered, and teachers on a leave of absence or sabbatical are encouraged to apply. A

one-year option would also be considered.
