The head of continuum development carries a major responsibility for the quality of the IB’s three programme-continuum of international education (PYP, MYP and Diploma Programme), its cohesion and continued development in line with the organization’s strategic plan. The appointee will be expected to work closely with the IB’s heads of programme and the regional offices, and liaise with other organizations in the field.
Applicants for this post should have significant teaching experience, knowledge and experience of at least two of the IB’s programmes, hold a graduate degree with, in addition, either teacher training, or a qualification in educational administration. Applicants should also be able to demonstrate proven leadership and managerial skills in an international context and have experience in curriculum and/or programme development. The ability to speak in public with authority and confidence is essential, as is an excellent command of English. The ability to work in at least one other IB language (French/Spanish/Chinese) would also be highly desirable.
