Preview of new website for staff

The IB public website has undergone a major redevelopment during 2005, and the project is almost complete. The site is now available for IB staff to preview before it is published to the world at large.

Accessing the new site

You can see the new site at: http://ibo4.ibo.org.  Until it is live to the public you must log-in with the same username and password that you use to access your IB email. The log-in details for the new online store are 'test' and 'denmark'.

Go-live

The site will go-live to the public in mid-January. The precise date will be confirmed once our final testing and debugging is complete.

What’s new?

Just about everything!  The site has been designed on the basis of feedback from and research with users of the site:

  • There is new and significantly expanded information about our three programmes and the IB generally.
  • IB World Schools are at the centre of this new site with a page for every school and a powerful school search facility on every page.
  • There is a new graphic design with studio quality pictures and specially commissioned illustrations.
  • The site is logically structured with easy to use pull down menus and clear site navigation on every page.
  • Finding information is easy with a powerful site search engine, an A-Z index and the most widely used features given prominence from the home page.
  • There is a new online store with shopping cart facilities and online credit card clearance.
  • Each of our major stakeholder groups has their own dedicated page on the site with links to the information most likely to help them.
  • In the background, there is a new content management system based around Macromedia Contribute – simple to use, flexible, but very powerful.

Most importantly, this new site will be the basis for a number of exciting communications developments during 2006 – more soon!

How you can help

Please browse through the site, particularly the sections that relate to your area of work, to find out where content is located and the features that are available.

If you experience any problems such as broken links, missing pages or error messages, please let me know.

Please bear in mind that the majority of English pages are ready (subject to testing), and the French and Spanish pages are currently being finalised.
