Associations of IB World Schools in the Americas
Associations of IB World Schools are groups formed by and for IB school practitioners to assist IB World Schools, teachers and students in their communities—from implementing IB programmes to providing a forum for dialogue. Many associations also offer orientation and training workshops in cooperation with the IB.
Launched as informal gatherings of teachers from nearby schools, they have become effective advocates for the IB among universities and governments. Today, there are now more than 30 Associations of IB World Schools in the Americas.
These groups and their individual members are an indispensable resource for schools inquiring about the IB. Individual members serve as officers and committee members of their association, educate others about the IB, and form a powerful network of support for the larger IB community.
