IBSCM North MYP Coordinators Network

The South China and Mongolia Network hosted the following job-a-likes during April and May:
• Languages A other than English (Korean, Chinese, French, German) – 6 March at Western Academy of Beijing
• Technology – 13 March at Western Academy of Beijing
• MYP Coordinators – 8 April at Beijing BISS International School
• Mathematics – 17 April at Tianjin Experimental High School

The Network met in May at Beijing City International School for the final coordinators' meeting of the school year. They discussed schools' successes/challenges with the implementation of the IB publication MYP: From Principles into Practice as well as set dates for job-alikes and other community-based events for the 2009-2010 school year.

Middle School Affiliated to Nanjing Normal University

Five IB students from Middle School Affiliated to Nanjing Normal University were awarded the third prize in a model business competition organized by Canada King’s University College.
 


IB Chinese Graduates

Xiao-Fan Zhao, a 2005 IB graduate from Shanghai Pinghe School, has been awarded the Frederick Emmons Terman Engineering Scholastic Award at Stanford University, presented to only the top five percent of each year's senior engineering class.  Ms. Zhao invited Ms. Xinxian Wu as her guest to represent the teacher who had been most influential in their academic life to a special luncheon organised by the institution. 
 


Introductory seminar to promote programmes

The China Office held this seminar at Dalian No.7 Middle School on 29 June. John Switzer, Head of Regional Development, was present.
