Flinders University's Graduate Certificate in Education (IB Middle Years Programme), and their Masters of Education (IB) have recently been recognized as meeting the requirements of the Level 1 IB teacher award and the Level 2 award**.
Flinders University: Graduate Certificate in Education
The university’s School of education has designed its Graduate Certificate in Education (IB MYP) to prepare teachers who are new to, or relatively new to the IB Middle Years Programme. The course of study allows teachers to gain a greater understanding of the IB Middle Years Programme and focuses on its implementation in IB schools. The course, which meets the Level 1 IB teacher award requirements, focuses on three key areas:
- Curriculum Processes in the IBMYP
- Teaching and Learning in the IBMYP
- Assessment and Learning in the IBMYP

Flinders University: Master of Education (IB)
The University has developed its Masters of Education (IB) to prepare experienced IB educators, those in leadership positions, and IB educators aspiring to leadership positions in international education and the IB. The course of study meets the Level 2 IB teacher award requirements includes the following two compulsory topics**:
- Practitioner Inquiry in IB Schools
- Coursework Project in International Baccalaureate Practice
Three electives must also be completed. These can be drawn from other Masters level Education topics, and can include the three key areas completed as part of the Graduate Certificate in Education above.
Following successful completion of the Graduate Certificate, participants are eligible to apply for the Level 1 award - IB Middle Years Programme. Upon successful completion of the Masters course, participants are eligible to apply for the Level 2 award.

** Please note that to register for the Level 2 award all registrants need to be experienced teachers with at least 5 years experience of teaching, which includes three or more years of continuous teaching in the same IB programme in one IB school.
